Hi @DTM,. The first thing that I thought of is that the sensor might just be on the border of being too far away from the magnet; so most of the time, it is able to register as opened or closed. But not all the time. I removed the OEM battery to check it's voltage. It measured at only 2.8 volts. I replaced the battery with a new Duracell 2032. FYI - the door is deeply inset about 4-5 inches. So, I cannot mount the magnet on the door and the sensor on the door casing because they are too far apart.
