It has a 6" lift in the rear and 8" in the front (to level it out) but it will clear 38" tires for sure. I haven't tried 40"s but it would be a tight fit if they did fit. Gotcha. That makes sense. The front on the 20s is only 1/2" lower than the previous years. That size tire fits with no lift in previous years, I doubt that 1/2" makes a difference.
